In this photo series I focused on the theme of illumination. In the last image illumination can be seen in that, light hits the side of the face of the subject creating a shadow over the other of her face. The image follows the rule of thirds because she is on the left of the image and the image is somewhat taken close.
In the first image illumination is seen by the way that the light hits the ground illuminating the bricks as well as the lady walking her dog. There is good negative space in the image which are the shadows as well you can see the city in the distance that is illuminated. The image is a wide view and taken far from the subject. The image follows the rule of thirds because the lady is to the left of the image. Finally there is a large f-stop because everything is in focus.
"The difference between a good photograph and a great photograph is the difference between here and there. One inch this way or that way determines whether you’re going to put a pole through somebody’s head or whether their head is going to contribute to a circular synergy with other things in the frame." P 44
This quote relates to my series because the quote is about the framing of images. The framing of my images in my series were very important because they made them look good and more interesting because of the framing. The wide shots the low angles and the high angles all of these made my images interesting and the framing was apart of this. What made my images great was the framing and the angles at which they were taken.

Metaphor
Metaphor - "a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable."
Image #3 has a dismal type of mood due to the blues color and the arrangement of the book and train give a meaning of an uncertain journey not knowing what will come of the trip.
Precariousness
The placement of the images and the angle at which the image was taken as well changing the color of the photo making it blue helped me to communicate this message of precariousness.
